If it fails the first test remove it fit to a different computer and retest. Only way to check this for certain is to fit it as a Internal Drive inside a computer and test the Drive with WD’s Data Lifeguard for DOS Utility available free hereĭownload the DOS version and copy it to a suitable Boot Disc that is supported by your system and then test the HDD by booting off the WD Utility Disc and running the test.
